Philosophy Club

The Kutztown Area High School Philosophy Club

The KAHS Philosophy Club is a student organized and run program. It began in 2020 and is based on the models and materials provided by the American Philosophical Association’s Committee on Pre-College Philosophy and PLATO (Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization). The club encourages open dialogue and inquiry regarding historical philosophical questions as well as present day issues and topics. Members develop skills in communication and logic, and most importantly understanding and appreciation for different experiences and perspectives. Club members have the opportunity each school year to submit original works including essays, poetry, photography and artwork for publication in Questions , PLATO’s peer reviewed academic journal for students grades K-12.
